Carol
Ellison is an award-winning business and technology journalist
who has held senior and executive editorial positions with
the nations two largest hi-tech publishers, Ziff Davis
Media and CMP Media, since 1986. As
partner of Ellison Associates, she is a regular contributor
to Muniwireless.com, “the voice of public broadband,”
and CRM magazine.
She
launched CMPs VARBusiness University, an online resource
center for hi-tech integrators and value-added resellers
and, as education editor at HomePC magazine, was the founder
and director of the HomePC Kids Lab, the nations
first independent software testing lab for children. As
executive editor of Ziff Davis IT Insider Series,
she launched a newsletter/Web site/conference offering focused
on intranets and extranets for corporate IT executives.
Prior
to joining the ranks of technology journalists, Carol was
editor-in-chief at two Scripps-Howard community newspapers.
She has authored and contributed to five books, including
Parents, Computers & Kids (Random House) and Netware
Power Tools (Brady). Her reports on technology in business
and education have appeared in PCMagazine, VARBusiness,
Child magazine, Compute!, Electronic Entertainment,
The Washington Post, The Christian Science Monitor,
the Newark Star Ledger and The Cincinnati Post.
As
a technology and education expert, she has been widely quoted
